September 2016 Portrait of the Month - László Kiss

László Kiss

This portrait of László was created at the InterGeneration program in Budapest, Hungary. The project, run by Andrea Szonyi of the USC Shoah Foundation, brings together third generation Jewish youth and Holocaust survivors who have never been to Israel. They meet and converse, and then the two groups go to Israel together. The youth also meet separately to learn about the Holocaust through history, art, film. For two years, Memory Project workshops have been a part of these meetings, during which the students learn about and draw our Hungarian subjects. We're thrilled to be a part of this amazing program.
