Guided Workshops

Meet Holocaust survivor Anna Jacobs and her brother Kalman in a workshop that will touch hearts and minds.

Kalman and Anna are Jewish children who escape from the Warsaw Ghetto during World War II. Soon after, Kalman disappears without a trace. Anna recounts their story as her daughter, Roz, paints his portrait. The act of painting and sharing his story transforms Kalman’s image into a universal expression of love and loss in a ten-minute video that you can use to launch The Memory Project.

Participants watch short videos, write, learn interview techniques and draw with pastels, discovering that art is not a mystery and history is not abstract, but something that we all have inside of us.
