We're excited to announce that the Southern Adirondack Library System will launch the Messages From Survivors exhibit in two libraries this September, and will send it to a dozen more sites over the following two years.
Roma Genocide Remembrance Day
A haunting portrait of Anna Maria Steinbach is August’s Portrait of the Month. We chose it because August 2nd is Roma Genocide Remembrance Day. On that day in 1944, nearly 3,000 Roma and Sinti people, mostly women, children and the elderly were sent to the gas chamber at Auschwitz-Birkenau. Anna Maria was probably one of them. She was nine years old.
June in Dallas
June in Dallas is hot. We were told it gets even hotter. But heat and storms didn’t stop us from having a fulfilling and productive time at the 2023 AHO Summer Conference at the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum.
