The Memory Project in Omaha
Last weekend at the National Art Education Association’s annual conference, Memory Project founders Roz Jacobs and Laurie Weisman learned that that over the past two years, more than a quarter of the middle schools in Omaha, Nebraska have held Memory Project workshops. The Institute for Holocaust Education in Omaha has been partnering with Jewish Community Centers and using The Memory Project Productions’ free curriculum kit to provide these workshops. Nearly 1,700 students participated in these workshops in 2016 and 2017! They are holding a reception next month for students, their families, and local Holocaust survivors where all of the students’ portraits will be on display. Your community can also be involved. Download the free curriculum kit and become an ambassador for creativity and compassion.
